Jamie Willits, MD

Family Physician

Jamie Willits, MD is a kind and compassionate family medicine physician at Abilene Family Medical Associates in Abilene, Texas.    She found her calling in Family Medicine and works tirelessly to ensure that her patients receive the best possible care.   She receives a tremendous number of positive comments about her ability to really listen to her patients and to develop the best care plan. 

Dr. Willits earned her undergraduate degree at Abilene Christian University. She then received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch where she was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and was the recipient of the Merck Manual Award and was a finalist for the prestigious Gold-Headed Cane Award. Dr. Willits completed her family medicine residency at the Waco Family Medicine Institute. She was awarded the May Wang “Most Compassionate Physician” Award and served as a chief resident.

Dr. Willits, with her husband and children, lived in West Africa from 2010-2018 where she served as a medical missionary, caring for some of the most financially impoverished and medically underserved people of the world. Since returning to the United States, her work has been in primary care, emergency medicine, and hospital medicine.

When not working, Dr. Willits loves spending time with her family. She enjoys reading, running, scuba diving, hiking, and being outdoors.
